HELLO!

Not long ago I had a conversation with a friend.

NOMADIC GENE.

We agreed that certain people are scented for endless travel and change.

And we are one of these people.

NOMADIC GENE TRAIN TRAVEL

Nomadic Gene is a blog for the next generation of young digital nomad entrepreneurs.

Would you like to learn how to travel the world, work remotely, create authentic experiences and manifest the life of your dreams?

For the first time, I flew out of my comfy nest at the age of 16. Just so I could experience my own independent teenage living in a boarding school. Even before that my whole family has moved a lot. Never staying too long to settle and grow roots. Maybe because of Mongolian ancestry…

Dune of Pilat - the biggest Dune in Europe

First flight abroad happened before my 19 birthday. My grandma took me to see the tallest dune in Europe in France. That was back in 2012 – a life-changing year. Two months later I became an au pair in Salisbury, England, and dedicated a whole year to improve my English.

Since then I lived in 6 different countries and visited 25 countries in total.

When traveling, I like to know my places. Learn from locals, experience the culture, understand a new language.

In the Norwegian Arctic Circle, I tried dog sledding, horse riding and spent Easter in snowy mountains. In Iceland, I stayed hours on a Drakkar – traditional Viking ship and slept in the museum of sorcery and witchcraft.

Even though I didn’t have much money for traveling, I’ve always found a way to live on the road.

This blog is a sum of almost 10 years of nomadic experience, with all its ups and downs.

Each travel brought a great deal of adventure and new connections. It lit the curiosity for discoveries and various ways of living. Opened possibilities and showed plenty of ways to travel the world on a budget.

Today I live in a sunny Algarve in Portugal. I am an aspiring digital nomad that tries to scale the online business and find the best remote work model.

On this website, I want to teach other young digital nomad entrepreneurs to combine their passion for traveling and unique skills that they can monetize online.

Welcome on board for a life full of adventure, authentic experiences, and slow travel as a digital nomad entrepreneur!

2012

My traveling journey started from moving to Salisbury as an au pair.

I spent a whole year going to college, learning English, and traveling around the South West Coast of England.

This was a life-changing year for sure!

After Salisbury, I spent a couple of months living close to the most beautiful town in England – Bath.

I had a job on the old bridge – in a cafe, making delicious coffees for locals!

2014

From March till June of 2014 I lived in Arctic Circle – Finnmark – in Norway.

That’s where my couple of Bucket List dreams have fulfilled:
♦ dog sledding
♦ seeing Northern Lights
♦
learning how to knit
horse riding
♦
experiencing Midnight Sun
♦ sleeping in a Norwegian

In June and July of 2014, I hitchhiked on my own across Iceland with only $400 in my pocket. Slept in the tent, volunteered in a Viking ship, spent one night in a museum of witchcraft, and swam in natural hot springs…

This was my favorite trip of all time!

In September 2014, together with my friend, we hitchhiked 8500 km across Turkey, Georgia, and Armenia.

It was a beautiful experience of new cultures, unforgettable memories, and amazing views.

At the end of 2014, I moved to Galway, Ireland, and spent 3 months working in a restaurant.

Managed to watched all episodes of Father Ted and visited Aran Islands (one of which is supposedly a Craggy Island).

In 2015 I was back in Norway. This time in a village 40 km from Oslo. I spent the whole year as an au pair and learned the Norwegian language.

I loved this time so much and still miss Norway so dearly.

Back in 2017, I was volunteering for 3 months in a Yoga Center in the Norwegian mountains.

It was a very beautiful experience. I met many inspiring people, practiced yoga and meditation every day, and learned ayurvedic cooking!

2018

For a short while in 2018, I lived in London.

Big cities are not my piece of cake. Even though I found plenty of beautiful walks and parks around London, this adventure ended pretty quickly.

Later on, in 2018, I moved to Switzerland and worked as a nanny for 7 months.

What a stunning country! Mountains and lakes all around.

Finally, in 2020, I came with my mum to volunteer in the South-West tip of Europe – Sagres in Portugal.

First, I spent 10 months living in a tent and moved around three beautiful places in Algarve.

I climbed, visited places, and enjoyed plenty of Sun!
